About Small Steps
Health advice that fits into an ordinary week.
Most people already know that sleep, food, movement and stress matter. The hard part is knowing which changes are worth the effort, and then actually making them. That is the gap we write for.
Why small steps
Big overhauls tend to collapse by the third week. Small, specific habits are easier to start, easier to repeat, and they add up. A ten-minute walk after dinner, a consistent wake time, an extra serving of beans: none of these will change your life by Friday, but each one is a real improvement you can keep.
So every article here ends with something concrete. We would rather give you one thing you will do than ten things you will feel guilty about.
Editorial standards
We base our articles on public health guidelines, systematic reviews and well-designed studies, and we link to the sources so you can read them yourself. When the evidence is thin or mixed, we say so plainly instead of picking the most exciting result.
- We do not accept sponsored posts, and we do not use affiliate links.
- We do not sell supplements, programs or products.
- We review articles when guidelines change and show the date of the last update.
- We correct mistakes openly. If you spot one, tell us and we will fix it.
What we are not
We are not your doctor, and nothing here is a diagnosis or a treatment plan. General advice cannot account for your history, your medications or your particular body. Use these articles to have better conversations with the clinicians who know you, not to replace those conversations.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please reach out now. In the US you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Elsewhere, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country.
